Norway In Control With Easy Win Over Slovakia

Norway played a good match against Slovakia, winning with an eight goal margin (35-27), above all because of the great second half.
Slovakian team started the match a bit nervous, allowing the favourite to take a 2-0 lead after just two minutes of play. As soon as Slovakia starter playing calmly, they managed to get back and drew do 3-3, 4-4 and then 5-5. They even managed to get a 8-7 lead with the penalty scored by Kostelna, prompting the Norway coach to take a timeout. The Scandinavian team played a bit better, but still couldn’t create a bigger advantage, going to halftime with a two goal lead (15-13).
Norway played much better at the beginning of the second half,doubling the lead to four goals (21-17). As time went on, the Slovakian team looked more and more tired, and Norway knew how to take an advantage, winning this match 35-27.…

Russia too strong for Germany!

Russia under 17 woman national team had strong start of W17 EHF Euro in Macedonia, after beating Germany 26-20 (13-12) in the first match of group “B”, that was played in “Jane Sandanski” arena in Skopje.

The first half of the match was very equal, with minimal lead for one side at the end, but in the beginning of the next period russian players played very well in the defense and gained first big lead that brought them the win.

Karina Sabirova scored seven goals for winning Russia team, Anna Shaposhnikova had six and Ekaterina Kudriavtseva had five goals behind their names. Vildana Halilovic, Isabell Hurts and Franziska Peter scored four goals for Germany side.

This was a good game for us, but the win must be quickly forgotten and we must be focused on next matches in the group. The gold in Skopje is our ultimate goal”, was the statement of Sabirova after the game.

Second match from group “B” will be between Romania and Spain.…

Clash between teams of France and Portugal was W17 EHF EURO opening match in “Boris Trajkovski” sports hall. Thеse teams are not listed as top favorites at this moment, but surely have potential to make their way to Top 10 on this championship and earn place for the next World Championship.

France took early control and had goal or two advantage during first quarter of the match. Portugal was always close and pretty successful in finding ways to get back in the game in first 20 minutes of the match.

Than, Constance Mauny from counter attack scored for 12:9, Jannela Blonbou added one more and France had big four goals lead. That put some pressure on Portuguese team and they lost they ground. In last five minutes of the first half France was dominant and their advantage went up to seven goals (19:12).

Goalkeeper Ana Maria Ursu and better performance of the defense line bring some hope for the Portuguese team at the beginning of the second half. After seven minutes France was still without goal and their advantage was only 3 goals (20:17). Teams of Norway, Netherlands and Hungary made themselves comfortable in Skopje

The national team of Norway was the first to arrive in Skopje for the W17 EHF EURO which will be held from 13 to 23 august in Macedonian capital.

Six team were scheduled for the first arriving day (11 august), and the girls from Norway, Hungary and Netherlands have already made them selves comfortable in hotel Continental, where all the teams are staying.

Until the end of the day the teams of France, Croatia and Portugal should check in, and the rest of the teams are scheduled to arrive tomorrow, 12 august.

The W17 EHF EURO starts on Thursday at 13:00 CET, with the clash between Russia and Germany.…
