After the final match, representatives from team Denmark and Russia shared their impressions from the most important match at the W17 EHF Euro.

Head coach of Denmark, Heine Erikssen:

“I think that it was a good match, not beautiful but a fighting one. When you play a final the most important is the fight. It is an honor to play against Russia it is a country with great names in handball. But we worked hard, and we prepared very well and that is the secret of Denmark. Now we are going back to the hotel and we will celebrate”

Player of Denmark, Laura Cecilie Jensen:

“This match was very close. Russia started good, but we managed to come back and we fought till the end. We are very happy that we won the gold medal”

Head coach of Russia Daniil Shmaevskyi:

“It was very good final game, with a lot of emotions, and a lot of mistakes. Russia made more mistakes and that is one of the reasons why we won silver, not gold. We made a lot of mistakes especially in the attack. Denmark was better opponent, congratulations for them.”

Player of Russia, Margarita Glukhova:

“It was a good match we couldn’t correct our mistakes, because we had strong opponent. Congratulations to Denmark.”
