After struggling victory in the first round, against Hungary, Denmark showed all their strength in today’s match against Slovakia grabbing an enormous victory with 31-14 (18-6)
The beginning minutes belonged to Slovakia, who scored twice, but after that Denmark was flawless. From 0-2 they made it 5-2, and soon with another strike of 5-0 they had 11-4. At the end of the first half the goal difference had already come to double digits, as the result was 18-6.
In the second half Slovakia kept the starting difference for a while, but couldn’t hold Denmark’s new wave, so from 24-11 in the 40th minute it came to 29-11 seven minutes later. The highest lead of the match was 31-12 for the Danes as they entered the last ten minutes. The match would have had more goals but goalkeepers on both sides had a great game.
Head coach of Denmark, Heine Morgensen Erikssen:
“We showed that are better team than Slovakia. The good thing in our game, what I was satisfied the most was our defense”
Head coach of Slovakia, Mariana Nemcikova:
“We prepared for Denmark, but we made a lot of mistakes. Our goalkeeper was the only one who had a good match, but the other players were not as good as they really are. We have to win against Hungary and go with two points in the next group phase“
